We begin our journey early in the morning from Athens, heading towards Meteora. Our driver will pick you up from your designated location. The travel time is approximately 4.5 hours.

Pass by: Kalabaka

Kalabaka is a picturesque town located at the foot of Meteora in the Trikala regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. With a population of approximately 8,330 (as of the 2011 census), it serves as the gateway to the awe-inspiring Meteora monasteries.

Upon arrival at Meteora, we will visit up to three of its world-renowned monasteries. These monasteries are of immense cultural and historical significance, perched atop towering rock formations shaped by natural forces over millions of years.

Thermopylae is historically significant as the site of the famous battle in 480 BCE between the Greek forces (Spartans, Thebans, and Thespians) and the invading Persian army. The name “Thermopylae” translates to “Hot Gates”, derived from its natural sulfur springs.

At the Battlefield of Thermopylae, we will pause to visit the monument of King Leonidas of Sparta, honoring his heroic stand against the Persians. This site remains one of the most legendary military last stands in history.
