Athens City Transfer Tips
Pre-booking is essential: for any Athens transfer involving the airport, a port, or a specific departure time — always pre-book. Last-minute availability for taxis and private transfers cannot be guaranteed in Athens.
Airport timing: when booking city-to-airport, allow at least 90 minutes from central Athens during peak hours. Tell your driver your flight time when booking — they will advise on departure time.
Port timing: for city-to-Piraeus, allow 60 minutes during peak hours. For city-to-Rafina, 50 minutes. Always specify your ferry departure time.
Short city trips: for hotel-to-restaurant, sightseeing hops, or any short-distance city trip — Free Now (taxi app) or a Radio Taxi call (Athina 1: 210-921-7942) are perfectly good options and often quicker for immediate bookings.
Athens Riviera: we cover all Riviera hotels — Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Kavouri, Varkiza, Lagonisi. Fixed prices to/from the airport and city.

Can I book a same-day transfer in Athens?
Same-day is sometimes possible but pre-booking is always recommended. Athens is a large city and last-minute availability for both taxis and private transfers cannot be guaranteed. Use the Happy Move App to check availability — but for important transfers, always book in advance.
For short city trips, do I need Happy Move?
Not necessarily. For short Athens city distances where you don’t need advance booking, Free Now (taxi app) or a Radio Taxi call works well. We recommend Happy Move for airport transfers, port connections, and any transfer where a confirmed driver and fixed price matter.
Do you cover the Athens Riviera?
